Recently, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service approved bans on traditional tackle on several National Wildlife Refuges. These actions lacked sound scientific evidence, setting a concerning precedent. Fortunately, there’s a bill working its way through Congress that could help stop these unwarranted bans.

Officially known as the Protecting Access for Hunters and Anglers Act, this bill would prohibit federal land management agencies from arbitrarily banning the use of traditional lead tackle on public lands and waters. It would support science-based management and ensure that state fish and wildlife agencies are given the proper authority to inform these decisions.

The U.S. House of Representatives is schedule to vote this week, so don’t delay! Tell Congress to vote “YES” on the Protecting Access for Hunters and Anglers Act today!
