Anglers Needed For CCFRP Trips out of Moss Landing

It’s that time of the year again…time to help collect data for fisheries management and the monitoring of California MPAs through hook-and-line surveys! Please join us for our 17^th year of data collection. If you are interested in participating, please look at the scheduled dates below and fill out the google form (linked below) to request a spot on our 2023 sampling trips!

The Moss Landing Marine Labs 2023 CCFRP schedule is:

•   Tuesday July 25^th, Wednesday July 26^th, Thursday July 27^th: F/V Kahuna, Point Lobos (Departing from Moss Landing Harbor)

•   Tuesday Aug 1^st, Wednesday Aug 2^nd, Thursday Aug 3^rd: F/V New Captain Pete, Año Nuevo (Departing from Pillar Point Harbor)

•   Tuesday Aug 15^th, Wednesday Aug 16^th, Thursday Aug17^th: F/V New Captain Pete, Año Nuevo (Departing from Pillar Point Harbor)

•   Tuesday Aug 29^th, Wednesday Aug 30^th, Thursday Aug 31^st: F/V New Horizon, Point Lobos (Departing from the Monterey Wharf)

Volunteer anglers should have a fair amount of experience fishing in the marine environment and be AT LEAST 16 YEARS OF AGE. All participants must be able to spend extended periods of time (e.g., 8 to 10 hours per day) on a recreational fishing boat, in potentially rough waters. Please note that there will be NO INDIVIDUAL TAKE on these cruises, in accordance with our CA Department of Fish and Wildlife scientific collecting permits.

Each individual trip date assumes a 6 AM boarding time and returns to the dock around 2-4 PM. However, return times are slightly variable and dependent upon conditions. If you have a friend who would like to participate with you, they must fill out this form separately – feel free to forward this form to other interested individuals. Unfortunately, due to the limited number of volunteer angler spots, I WILL NOT ACCEPT BULK RESERVATIONS.

As a reminder, we have a lot of anglers interested in these positions and your spot on a trip is not guaranteed until we have followed up with an email confirmation.
