ABOUT THE TOURNAMENT
The CCA California STAR Tournament is open to anglers of all levels! Running from Memorial Day Weekend to Labor Day Weekend, this unique tournament lets you fish for eight different species, with plenty of chances to win. Rather than focusing on size alone, it’s a qualifying catch tournament—catch a fish in one of the eight categories, and you’ll be entered to win fantastic weekly prizes as well as incredible grand prizes, including a brand-new Mako 17CC Pro Skiff*. CCA California’s summer-long STAR Tournament is open to party boats, private boats, kayakers and shore anglers alike!

What Prizes Can You Win?
Grand Prizes
Any adult anglers 18 years or older are able to participate for any of our grand prizes.
Youth Division
Youth anglers between the ages of 13 and 17 years old are eligible to fish in our Youth Division.
Other Divisions
Shorts Division
The Shorts Division focuses solely on data collection for both CCA California, as well as the California Department of Fish & Wildlife (CDFW). All anglers are invited to submit ANY barred sand bass to our tournament in this division. participate in this division, and entries are unlimited.
White Seabass Head Collection Division
Collecting any heads from captured White Seabass of any size remains important for the Ocean Resource Enhancement & Hatchery Program (OREHP). Any white seabass head from legal sized fish submitted via the STAR Tournament is eligible for this division.
Mylar Division
We are all stewards of the ocean and that means doing our part when coming across any trash while we’re out fishing. Mylar balloons in particular are a huge detriment to our natural resources, so ANY balloon picked up by anglers while fishing the STAR Tournament will be eligible to win.
Spear Division
The spearfishing community has much to offer in the sportfishing world and remains vital in White Sea Bass head collection for OREHP. Eligible fish caught by spear are now allowed to be submitted in the STAR Tournament.
