CCA CAL Los Angeles Chapter President John Ballotti was invited by the University of Southern California SEA Grant’s SEA Lab in Redondo Beach to speak to a group of Boy and Girl Scouts on sustainable fishing. 16 scouts and their parents were there as a part of their fishing merit badge program, and gave them the opportunity to learn more about how sound fisheries management and habitat protection are the cornerstones of successful sustainable fishing. Shortly after, they went on a short field trip to the Hermosa Beach Pier, where SEA Lab volunteers taught the scouts pier fishing techniques and etiquette.

A big thank you to LA Chapter President John Ballotti for speaking to these young scouts about our great sport, and teaching them sustainability when it comes to fishing.
