The 2019 Field season dates for the California Collaborative Fishing Research Program (CCFRP) has been announced for September and October of 2019! This is the third year of monitoring the Santa Barbara Channel’s Marine Protected Areas through hook-and-line, catch-and-release surveys!
2019 CCFRP Sampling Dates (Subject to change due to weather)
——— SANTA BARBARA HARBOR: On board the Stardust ———
September: 24th, 25th, 26th
October: 1st, 2nd
——— CHANNEL ISLANDS HARBOR: On board the Aloha Spirit ———
September: 17th, 18th, and 19th
October: 9th, 10th
Note: All trips out of Santa Barbara Harbor will survey Carrington Point SMR at Santa Rosa Island. Trips leaving from Channel Islands Harbor on board the Aloha Spirit will survey Anacapa Island SMR & SMCA.

In 2018, volunteers from all over California tagged over 20,000 fish as part of this program. These trips are very important as fishermen are needed to deliver results in an effort to display truthful science. For any questions, please let us know or visit the CCFRP webpage.
