CCA California set to moderate as state regulators address new angling regulations and 30×30 plans

Representatives from the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) and the state’s Ocean Protection Council (OPC) will take the Mammoth Lakes seminar stage on Saturday, April 1, at 1:30 pm during Bart Hall Show at the Long Beach Convention Center to help clarify for anglers the state’s newest fishing regulations and the plans for 30×30.

Speakers will include three representatives from CDFW: Dr. Craig Shuman, marine region manager; Eric Ford, assistant chief; and Jordan Traverso, deputy director of communications, education and outreach. The panel will also include Jenn Eckerle, executive director of the OPC and deputy secretary for Oceans and Coastal Policy at the California Natural Resources Agency. Wayne Kotow, executive director for the Coastal Conservation Association of California (CCA CAL) will moderate the panel discussions and questions from anglers attending the symposium.

“I want to thank Bart Hall for helping organize this important symposium during the Long Beach Show to help anglers better understand California’s newest sportfishing regulations, as well as the state’s plans for 30×30,” said Kotow. “I also want to thank Dr. Craig Shuman, Eric Ford, Jordan Traverso and Jenn Eckerle for taking time out of their busy schedules to talk with the sportfishing community and answer questions.”

“Please plan to attend, listen attentively, take notes and ask questions,” Kotow added. “As moderator, I will be do my best to ensure that the panel has a chance to answer as many questions as possible.” The symposium will conclude at 3:30 pm.
