Bring Family and Friends for a Great Time, Great Food and a Great Cause
The annual fundraising barbecue for the Los Angeles Chapter of the Coastal Conservation Association of California (CCA CAL) is slated for May 21 on the historic and expansive grounds of the Compton Hunting & Fishing Club.
Phil Friedman, legendary SoCal fishing personality and host of the popular Friedman Outdoors podcast, will serve as master of ceremonies for the Saturday event, set to get underway at 11 am with expert fishing seminars, games for the kids, a silent auction, and a chance to pore over a plethora of cool raffle items, including top-notch fishing gear and sportfishing charters.
Be sure to save your appetite, because the L.A. Chapter fundraiser will feature a delicious all-you-can-eat barbecue lunch prepared by the chefs at Calabasas Custom Catering, including Santa Maria-style slow-roasted tri-tip beef, pork ribs and chicken, along with sumptuous side dishes and refreshing beverages. Also scheduled to attend and talk with guests will be City of Compton Mayor Emma Shariff.
The Compton Hunting and Fishing is located 1625 Sportsman Drive, Compton, California.
Sponsors of the L.A. Chapter Barbeque include Los Angeles Rod and Reel Club, Turners Rod and Reel Club, Marina del Rey Anglers, and South Bay Anglers Club.
“The CCA CAL L.A. Chapter Annual Barbeque on May 31 will offer fun and comradery for the whole family from 11 am to 3 pm,” says Matt Groff, L.A. Chapter president. “Just as importantly, it helps support CCA Cal’s important mission to protect the health, habitat and sustainability of California’s marine resources, as well as the interests of recreational saltwater anglers and access to the resources they cherish and use on a daily basis. So, don’t miss out.”
Individual reservations are $80, and that includes an annual membership to CCA Cal. Tables for 10 are $750, with annual CCA CAL memberships included for each guest at your table. Make your reservations today by visiting www.CCACalifornia.org.
