Help shape the approach to meet California’s commitment to conserve 30 percent of our lands and coastal waters by 2030 (known as 30×30) and accelerate nature-based solutions to address climate change.
Governor Newsom’s executive order called for bold strategies to achieve these goals and directed state agencies to accelerate action to combat climate change, protect biodiversity, expand equitable access to nature, and build resilience through nature-based solutions.
Through this public input questionnaire, the California Natural Resources Agency (CNRA) is seeking to better understand opportunities and challenges for communities and partners around meeting the State’s commitment to conserve 30×30 and accelerate nature-based solutions to address climate change. Input from this questionnaire will be used to inform CNRA’s preparation of two complementary strategy documents:
- A “Pathways to 30×30” document that will identify strategies to achieve 30×30.
- A “Natural and Working Lands Climate Smart Strategy” that will guide climate action on California’s lands in coming years.
The public engagement process will also include regional workshops and topic-specific discussions with experts and members of the public over the coming months. Visit www.californianature.ca.gov to learn more.
