The California Collaborative Fisheries Research Program (CCFRP) has released some statistics from their 10 collection trips back in the Fall of 2019.
According to their recent newsletter, there were 10 collection hook and line sampling trips out to Santa Rosa and Anacapa Islands. Volunteers, including some from CCA CAL, put in over 315 hours and released 3,579 fish, while tagging 1,040 of those fish from 29 different species.
Some of the largest fish in various species were caught by members of CCA CAL, including Santa Barbara Chapter Vice President Whitney Uyeda, who caught a California Halibut at 32.29″. Also coming in was Ara Yazaryan, who caught a Vermillion Rockfish which measured out at 20.1″.
