White seabass caught by kayak fisherman turns out to be our oldest recaptured hatchery fish to date!
A white seabass released off the coast of Dana Point, by HSWRI and Dana Point volunteers 20 years ago was caught by kayak fisherman, Greg Barnicot, in January–fishing off Torrance, California. This is our oldest recaptured hatchery fish to date! We offer our congratulations and sincere appreciation to Greg and the volunteers of Dana Point! Keep turning in those fish heads – this is truly a team effort!
Our “Save Your White Seabass Head” program, allows us to collect valuable data from wild caught fish for all our conservation efforts. For more information call 1-877-SAVEWSB.
